Meet Holly

Holly Pottinger grew up in the beautiful Bulkley Valley near Smithers, BC. She was born into a family that had working ranch horses and parents that had a wealth of practical equestrian knowledge from long hours of farming, logging and packing with horses. Riding was part of everyday life and family albums were filled with pictures of horses.

Holly has spent a lifetime with Welsh ponies. She got her first Welsh pony to ride as a child, a white mare named Illini Nickole. 50 years later, Holly is still an owner and breeder of Welsh ponies. She is an active member of the local horse community helping organize events and mentoring new equestrians. Holly spent many years as a full time riding instructor and colt starter but in 2020, decided to focus on raising Welsh Ponies again.

Holly is excited for the future of Northern Twilight Welsh Ponies and is dedicated to producing talented athletic ponies without sacrificing easy going, lovable pony personalities – A pony for everyone.
